Once the private marina and privately operated marine railway of the Behlkes – a family who immigrated to the United States from Germany in 1900 – Rhode River Marina has a rich history of dedication to boaters, respect for the water and responsibility to the environment. The Behlkes once farmed the land around Rhode River’s Germantown Road location and, in 1982, planted the seed of marina life in the mind of a young, forward-thinking, boat mechanic named Brian Conner.

Brian had the opportunity to buy Rhode River Marina from the Behlkes, shortly after being hired. Today, the marina is the exclusive, authorized Maryland dealer for some of the highest-quality boat manufacturers and is known for standing behind its customers by servicing what it sells.
